Welcome to the Toledo Sailing Club
Founded some 60 years ago at Walbridge Park, where members
and guests continue to enjoy boating along one of the most
scenic stretches of the Maumee River. The river is navigable
upstream to Perrysburg and downstream to Lake Erie, with
many sites and way points in between. The river is well
protected from wind generated waves, making it the perfect
venue for small sailboats, day sailors and one design
sailboat racers to enjoy "smooth sailing". While protected
from waves, the prevailing south-west winds of summer and
northeast winds of spring and fall channel along the banks
of the river to offer a variety of sailing conditions from
serene to challenging. The orientation of the prevailing
winds provides sailors with the demands of windward sailing
and the rewards of downwind and spinnaker sailing. Please
browse this site to see what the Toledo Sailing Club offers
to both beginner and experienced sailors.
